If you don't want to use a provider-specific app, you have two main hardware-dependent options:
: Use the Xfinity Remote app or the Xfinity Stream app. These allow you to change channels and schedule DVR recordings directly from your phone.
: For newer boxes, hold the SETUP button until the light blinks, then press the CABLE button and hold OK until the box responds.
