Atsushi eventually discovers that Shibusawa’s obsession with him stems from a forgotten past at the orphanage. It is revealed that Atsushi’s inner "Tiger" ability had actually killed Shibusawa years prior, and the man now haunting Yokohama is a manifestation of Shibusawa’s own lingering ability. By finally accepting the "Beast Beneath the Moonlight" as a part of himself rather than a monster to fear, Atsushi is able to reclaim his power and end the nightmare.
