In Taishō-era Japan, young lives a peaceful life supporting his family by selling charcoal. One winter day, after staying overnight in a nearby village to avoid the dark, he returns home to a scene of horror: his entire family has been slaughtered by a demon. The only survivor is his younger sister, Nezuko , who has been transformed into a demon herself.
