Mortimer, a harmony-heavy trio from New York consisting of , Tony Van Benschoten , and Guy Masson , formed in the mid-1960s. After some success as "The Teddy Boys," they moved to London in 1968. Their luck changed when they were heard by George Harrison , who was so impressed by their acoustic sound and vocal blend that he personally championed their signing to the Beatles' Apple Records .
